Integrate your Sage MAS 90 or Sage MAS 200 with Warehouse Management Solution

The RADIO BEACON interface to Sage MAS 90 or MAS 200 works through a “Bridge” developed by SWK Inc. (a Channel Partner/Master Developer for Sage MAS 90 and MAS 200) to create a seamless, paperless transfer of information from the back office to the warehouse and back and forth. All the familiar MAS 90 or MAS 200 Sales Order and inventory processing still occurs, but in an intervention free manner. Detail-intensive procedures such as Sales Order Invoice Data Entry, ASN Data Entry, Purchase Order Receipt of Goods Entry and Inventory Transaction Entry are replaced with background processes automatically triggered by the SWK Bridge. There is no longer the ‘backlog’ of documents, like completed picking sheets, receipt of goods packing slips, and inventory adjustment memos from warehouse personnel, waiting to be entered into the MAS 90 or MAS 200 system. The power and flexibility of Sage MAS 90 or MAS 200 is extended with ‘behind-the-scenes’ enhancements that bring the solution into the warehouse with RADIO BEACON.

Through a system of timed file transfers, MAS 90 and MAS 200 are updated with changes in inventory as they happen in the RADIO BEACON system, validating key information against Sage MAS 90 or MAS 200 data as the goods are received, moved, picked and shipped. This timely and accurate data improves purchase planning, stock location and order taking and eliminates error prone manual data entry. RADIO BEACON augments Sage MAS 90 or MAS 200 order taking with the ability to allocate physically available stock based on assigned criteria and a variety of user selected sequences. Built-in and user customizable bar-coded labels enable the Sage MAS 90 or MAS 200 site to meet customer and carrier compliance requirements.

With RADIO BEACON the Sage MAS 90 or MAS 200 order entry process remains unaltered. Selecting the Sales Order Picking Sheet Print option sends all selected Sales Orders to RADIO BEACON for order processing in the warehouse. The Supervisor can allocate stock to orders based on site-specific rules or ad hoc requirements. Material handlers are directed to replenish pick locations before pickers are assigned. Orders are assigned to staff based on workload or zone assignments.

No two warehouses are alike, and RADIO BEACON offers interactive pick style flexibility allowing pick-and-pack operations to function at peak efficiency. Features such as wave picking dramatically reduce the time spent ‘walking around’ the warehouse by grouping multiple orders and picking them in a single pass or ‘wave’. Goods required for a wave of orders can be ‘batch’ collected, and then ‘product-picked’ out of the batch into the shipping cartons. Regardless of the choice of pick style, once the Dispatcher has waved the order to the floor in RADIO BEACON, the sales order is picked using radio frequency hand helds. The warehouse operator is taken on a directed walk through the warehouse to fulfill the sales order. To increase productivity and decrease errors, RADIO BEACON reduces the handling of goods in the warehouse. RADIO BEACON encourages picking right into the final shipping carton(s). Shipping labels are produced for empty cartons BEFORE the order is picked. RADIO BEACON estimates the shipment cube to help select the right carton size and allows the picker to print additional shipping labels if necessary.

Interactive verification of every function in the pick process ensures that the right goods are shipped in the right carton to the right customer, the first time – every time. Throughout the picking process, the operator is directed to the correct bin, prompted to scan the products, confirm the quantity and the carton.

Once the sales order has been picked and closed, RADIO BEACON takes all of the ‘ready to upload’ pick confirmations and sends them back to Sage MAS 90 or MAS 200. By selecting Sales Order Auto Invoice Generation, the Sage MAS 90 or MAS 200 operator is able to invoice all sales orders that have been picked and shipped using RADIO BEACON shipped quantities. The need for manual invoice data entry is eliminated.

With RADIO BEACON the Sage MAS 90 or MAS 200 process for creating a purchase order remains unaltered. Selecting the Purchase Order Print option sends all selected POs to RADIO BEACON for receiving.

The purchase order is accessed via the handheld and the receiver is directed through the receiving process by a series of prompts. It is virtually impossible to receive the wrong goods against a PO, as RADIO BEACON validates each receipt against the authorized products and quantities. Receiving in RADIO BEACON is completely paperless, using radio frequency hand helds, receiving data is captured and verified on the spot eliminating redundant data entry and potential keying errors.

RADIO BEACON offers flexibility in the receiving process allowing for simultaneous multiple purchase order receipts and by allowing more than one receiver to work on the same PO. Once received, the put-away staff is prompted to confirm product, quantities and put-away locations for accurate stock location.

Once the receipt is closed, RADIO BEACON uploads POs with a status of ‘ready to upload’ and generates a ‘PO Receipt of Goods’ in Sage MAS 90 or MAS 200 for processing. Selecting either the Purchase Order Receipt of Goods Entry or Register menu options allows the Sage MAS 90 or MAS 200 operator to bring all of the POs received through RADIO BEACON into MAS 90 or MAS 200. The need for manual Receipt of Goods Entry is completely eliminated, and the normal Sage MAS 90 or MAS 200 processes for completing the Purchase Order are followed as usual.

With RADIO BEACON, real time cycle counting helps maintain an accurate perpetual inventory without interrupting operations. Adjustments to inventory are made immediately upon discovery, either as the result of a physical count, non-P/O receipt of goods such as vendor or customer returns, discarding of damaged goods or other non-sales removal of inventory. Such adjustments, always initiated in the RADIO BEACON system, are automatically uploaded to MAS 90 or MAS 200 in the form of Inventory Transactions (adjustments). The need for manual entry of Inventory Transactions is eliminated.
